Stuttgart – The tradition-laden Maybach luxury brand announced it’s adding a fifth model to its line-up. The new Maybach Landaulet resurrects the legend of the classic luxury landaulets.
It’s a design that closes in the chauffeur's area while an extra-large folding roof can be opened up over the pampered rear-seat passengers, leaving nothing between them and the fresh air.
The Maybach Landaulet thus offers a majestic open-air experience currently unrivalled by any other automobile. Boasting a certain romantic quality and allowing passengers an opportunity to savor a closeness to nature, this vehicle also strives to offer the ultimate in comfort and technological sophistication. The goal was to set a new standard among the world's most exclusive luxury vehicles.
This vehicle grew out of a November 2007 study that looked at reviving the aura of the grand carriages of days gone by with an updated Landaulet. The response from the public was positive enough to encourage the company that there was a market for a hand-built Landaulet based exclusively on the customer's own specifications.
A limited number of vehicles will be built in the Manufaktur workshops in Sindelfingen over a restricted period.
The vehicles promise to use the, “finest materials are painstakingly handcrafted by select craftsmen to meet the customers' exacting requirements.”
You’d imagine that the Maybach clientele would expect nothing less.
According to the latest Luxury Brand Status Index (LBSI), a survey of 531 U.S. millionaires recently voted Maybach the most prestigious luxury automobile brand. If this looks like something you’d like to add to your automotive stable you should send the chauffeur down to your local Mercedes dealer or, I suppose, you could go there yourself. Remember to bring along about $1.3-million though.
