Huntsville, Alabama – The rich are different than we are and the royals are in a world unto themselves. While it’s unlikely you’ll ever be asked to sleep over at Buckingham Palace there is one way you can get a glimpse of how the regal see we mere commoners.
All it takes is the financial fortitude to prevail when the Queen of England’s Armstrong Sidley Parade Car is auctioned at the first ever Hunstville Collector Car Auction on March 15, 2008.
This extremely rare car, first registered in April of 1960, is one of only 12 ever built and one of two still known to exist. The current owner bought the Star Sapphire Limo in 1973 and brought it to the United States.
If rubbing shoulders with a car owned by the Queen isn’t enough you can also meet a friend of the King -- at least, a friend of the King of rock ‘n’ roll. Jimmy Velvet, internationally known recording artist and personal friend of Elvis Presley will be attending and selling his book full of personal photos and memories from five decades of entertainment history.
Kruse International along with Fred Gittins Jr. will host the Huntsville auction being held at the Von Braun Center. A tip for those who don’t have Mapquest, Huntsville, is just a short drive from both Birmingham and Chattanooga. Bidders and consigners will be coming from all parts of the country for this inaugural event. Kruse says it has already exceeded its expectations with consignments and bidders!
There will be plenty of action, excitement and something for everyone at this one day event. Genevieve Chappel, Reporter and TV Host from ESPN will be on site assisting with the auction as well as signing postcards.
The auctioneers will shout, big block engines will roar and bids will roll in during the highly anticipated bidding wars of this auction. The organizers promise a great line up of cars from all over the country to entice your viewing pleasure.
