The world's largest car show celebrates its 30th anniversary this year with more cars and visitors than ever before. The big news is the collaboration with high-profile car collector and talk show host Jay Leno.
Leno, the owner of Big Dog Garage, one of the worlds largest private car collections, is offering the Jay Leno car Award for Power Big Meet. The winner will be chosen by Leno's reps and presented by his mechanic Per Blixt.
Unfortunately, Leno won't be able to be on location due to his demanding work schedule, but will follow the event from L.A. and send a greeting by a pre recorded video message.

What's billed as the "worlds largest car meet for classic American cars" is also hosting the biggest swap meet vendor in Europe, spectacular car cruising, artist performances and exhibitions.
One way to tell this is being held in Europe is that the city of Vasteras has bought mission allowances for 40 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) for Power Big Meet. That should be enough to compensate for the 15,000 classic American cars and the 250 000 visitors from 40 countries that will show up on July 5th, 6th, and 7th in Vasteras, Sweden.
If you want to do your part for global warming this summer fly to Sweden and join the fun. Maybe we'll be seeing cruise nights participating in the cap and trade.
Should the Woodward Dream Cruise be next? Remember 40 tons of CO2 is the equivalent to 20 000 cars each driving 10-kilometers or one car driving five laps around the globe. That's enough to get a few thousand cars up and down Woodward. Even allowing for the occasional burn out.
