Honolulu, HI – (February 11, 2008) The first ever Kruse Hawaii Collector Car Auction was held this past weekend at the Hawaii Convention Center on Honolulu, Hawaii. This auction will go down in the history books and will set the trend for future Hawaii car auctions. Nearly 200 cars crossed the auction block.
There was a slow start but with education from the Kruse staff, the bids began rolling in and there were several record-breaking sales. Bidders were not only from the islands but the mainland as well.
There were bidders from California, Washington, New York and as far as Australia, New Zealand and Japan.
Total auction bids topped the $5 million mark and nearly doubled what was originally projected. Dean Kruse, President and Owner of Kruse International stated, “This was one of the best inaugural events ever in the history of Kruse International. We can’t wait to return next year and have already begun working on plans for next year. It was great working with Robert Smith. His expertise in the market helped make this sale a record breaker. This is a great sale for anyone to bring their car or entire collection!”
