In the 1950s American parents were afraid that their darling youngens would choose a life of fast cars, sex and dangerous living among the hot rod set.

Movie makers were quick to exploit these fears and the attraction these cars had on suburban teens whose raging hormones fueled the success of inexpensive to make drive in movies geared to appeal to them. While they seem innocent and quaint now -- these were controversial subjects not too long ago.
