Auburn, IN – The Kruse International 37th Annual Auburn Fall Collector Car Auction weekend, August 30 – September 4, will feature recording artist Jimmy Velvet, Ernest Hemingway’s Rolls-Royce, Saturday night fireworks and concerts by Spike and the Bulldogs and the Junkyard Band.
One of the highlights of the Kruse International Auction will be a 1933 Rolls-Royce originally purchased by Ernest Hemingway. The rich history of this car also included secondary ownership by Barbara Hutton, the Woolworth heiress. Hemingway toured the United States in this car. During the time, he wrote and published “A Farewell to Arms,” “The Fifth Column and the First Forty-Nine Stories” and “Death in the Afternoon.”
On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Jimmy Velvet, internationally known recording artist and personal friend of Elvis Presley will be at the Kruse Auction Park signing his new recently published book. The book is being offered at the Kruse Auction for its pre-release and won’t be available officially until October. The book has over 500 stars photographed by Jimmy Velvet, from Elvis to Buddy Holly, Natalie Wood to Princess Di, Rocky Marciano to Mohammed Ali, Kiss to Fleetwood Mac, Evel Knievel to Tiny Tim, just to name a few!
The Saturday auction will end with fireworks at the Kruse Auction Grounds and there are free concerts on Thursday and Sunday.
