I have had a lot of issue with my truck as well, the unfixable issue is a hope around 50 mph allthough it will do it at 70mph too it is significantly worse around 50. I have had it to the shope over ten times for issue since the second week i bought it over a year ago, everything imaginable has been replaced still no fix. This is very frustrating. As far as the first comment about the reduced power mode, i live in michigan under extreme cold conditions and i finally figured out a fix for that. It is actually the airfilter drawing moister and freezing up not the fuel filter. To fix it you can but another airfilter cover and drill five large half dollar size holes in it to run in the winter only. THis will cause it to bring warmer air off the engine to keep the airfilter moisture from freezing. In extremely cold weather (-30) you may want to run the grill cover with it too the bottom bra is not needed. - Jacob

I too have a 50,000 plus HD 3500 that is a pile of junk. Wish I had stayed with my super duties. It is in the shop now with 10,000 miles and I just got a call telling me that there is going to be a $275.00 charge for telling me why the batteries will not stay charged for over two days, why it pops and back-fires under the passenger seat. Why the ecm will not hold a program. What happened to warranty work, I hate everything about this truck. - Waldner Construction

I love my 2008 LTZ Silverado 2500 with Duramax and Allason! My major problem since owning the truck has been fuel related. As a diesel truck, work of some sort is important but the Duramax has become to complicated. The ECM throws codes at anytime, either a regen went wrong or its to cold and the fuel system finds something to go off on. Such as last night when the dash readout flashed REDUCED POWER, change fuel filter. Even though my filter is new... Well, I've gone the route and did everything in my power but the code is still there and I don't have enough power to drive my truck to the dealer. I now have a $50,000 truck that is not dependable, this is the fourth time I've thrown a code that has stopped me in my tracks. GM, what is wrong with simplicity? I have a 1987 1-ton dump with a 6.2 diesel, not even turbo driven, no computer, no electronic BS! Well this trck started in minus -10 degrees and drove all day with out additive when my new 2008 Silverado was stopped dead. Thanks GM for making such a complicated vehicle, then maybe its time to take a step back and look at why you needed a bail-out? I know I could use a dependable GM truck, after all a few months ago I spend $50,000 for a truck that today can be bought for $36,000. Oh, just so any readers know. The same day my truck threw the fuel filter code, two of my friends had the same problem. I'm not a happy GM owner! - Raymond sedorchuk
