Remember your first car?  No, no, not the one you could afford, but the one you noticed, the one you couldn’t take your eyes off of, the one you wished you could afford, the one that made you feel good, the one everyone turned to look at – that cool great car.

This website, and its companion television series is designed to put you in the driver’s seat of that Great Car.

Great Cars hit the road with 52 great half-hours about the greatest automobiles ever created.  It roared onto PBS in the US and the airwaves in the UK, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Russia, India, China and all throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa.  We’ll be adding more outlets in the near future and finding ways to bring Great Cars to mobile phones too.

We hope that these stories will continue to draw viewers to their televisions as we explore why most of the world is crazy for cars.  We also hope that you’ll find this website a useful, informative and interesting place to visit.  Our goal is to create a place where the community of car lovers can congregate, watch videos, share their photos and videos and engage their passions for automobiles.  We believe that car enthusiasts love to talk about and learn about their favorite cars.  We’ll try to stimulate the discussion with treasures from our video vault and new stories we find.

Cars have changed the way we live, love, work, worship, wage war, eat, play and the music we listen to.  The stories of these remarkable machines and the people who created them are endlessly fascinating to us and we hope you agree.  Get ready for an almost hands-on fantasy-fulfilling experience.

This TV series and website will continue to cover all of the great auto marques – Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Rolls-Royce, Ford, Cadillac, Jaguar, Volkswagen, Land Rover, Mercedes Benz, Corvette, Cobra, GT40, Mustang, Maybach - their technology, their features, their strengths and their weaknesses.  We’ll explore the reasoning behind why the manufacturers made various decisions, what they were trying to achieve and see whether they succeeded or failed.  We’ll deal with money, power, fashion, history and beautiful cars.  They involve some of the most legendary and charismatic people the world has known - Henry Ford, Enzo Ferrari, John DeLorean, Lee Iacocca, Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and dozens more load the series with intense dramatic human interest.  We’ll also take a look at today’s Great Cars and try to find cars that will turn out to be future classics.

We’ll also have articles and links about automotive news, car events, auctions, tips on how to buy that Great Car you’ve always wanted, how to take car of it, restore it, find a club that shares your passion, visit a memorable auto museum or private collection, and maybe plan a Great Drive in your Great Car.

We believe the website and TV series will appeal to serious automotive historians and car buffs, and to the millions of people who remember their first car, their first love affair in a car and the car they really wanted to buy -- if only they’d had the money.

We see Great Cars as a major ongoing project that's packed with action, drama, color and movement, nostalgia and fantasy.

We invite you to go cruising with Great Cars.
